In a typical poker game, players bet money in the hope of winning. Players are dealt five community cards and a final card. The player who is ‘rocking’ or not playing well is known as a ‘tight player’. These players often sit around the table and do not play much for hours, but enter pots when they have goods. This type of player usually forces other players to bet more money.<\/p>\n
The best hand is a straight flush, which consists of five cards of the same suit. The ace can be high or low, and can be paired with two other cards. The ace may not wrap around the other four cards. This makes an Ace high straight flush, known as a Royal Flush.<\/p>\n
The best hand wins the pot. If two players tie for high and low hands, the odd chip goes to the high hand. If two players have the same hand, the pot is split as evenly as possible. The high hand is determined by determining which player has the highest card of the same suit. This hand has the highest chance of winning, and the low hand wins nothing.<\/p>\n
Each betting interval is called a “bet round”. The first bet is made by a player and each player is given a certain amount of chips. In turn, each player must raise or put in the same number of chips as the player before him.
